Why Is Salt Therapy?

Salt therapy has been used in various forms for centuries to treat a variety of ailments. The ancient Greeks and Romans used salt baths to improve skin health, remove toxins from the body, and reduce inflammation.

In the Middle Ages, salt was used as a form of treatment for various diseases including plague and smallpox. Today, salt therapy is still widely used to treat a variety of illnesses and injuries.

One of the most common reasons people use dry salt treatment is to treat inflammation. Both hot and cold salt treatments have been shown to reduce inflammation in the body. Hot salt treatments increase blood flow to areas of injury and help release built-up toxins.

Cold salt treatments decrease inflammation by increasing the production of cytokines, which are proteins that signal cells to stop producing inflammatory chemicals.

Salt therapy is also effective at treating other conditions such as pain relief, anxiety relief, detoxification, and regeneration.

For example, hot salt baths can help relieve pain from arthritis and other forms of arthritis, while cold salt treatments can help reduce inflammation and promote healing in wounds.

Additionally, saline nasal irrigations can be helpful in relieving sinus problems and congestion. Salt therapy can also be used as part of a detox program to help remove stress.
